What This Position is All About
The Presser is responsible for the final touches of gown preparation prior to delivery to the customer, as well as maintaining the samples in premium condition in the salon.  The presser is responsible to iron or steam the gown in the appropriate fashion according the construction and material.

You Also Have:
  • Minimum of 5 years prior experience with sensitive fabrics in a manufacturing, alterations or high end dry cleaner environment
  • Knowledge of equipment , limitations and requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of garment construction and material care
  • Knowledge of spot cleaning
As The Presser, You Will:
  • Inspects and presses/irons/steams gowns and veils appropriately and according to the material ensuring that the correct temperature and methods are used
  • Appropriate use of temperatures and instruments to ensure the removal of wrinkles, flattened seams, and reviving shape
  • Remove finished pieces from pressing machines and hang or stack them for cooling, or forward them for additional processing
  • Use covering cloths to prevent equipment from damaging delicate fabrics
  • Clean and maintain pressing machines, using designated cleaning solutions
  • Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformity to standards, using specific measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers
  • Measure fabric to specifications, cut uneven edges with shears, fold material, and press it with an iron to form a heading
