Day In The Life:

The Sr. Manager, Loyalty Promotions and Data Science will lead a team that is responsible for all analytics and insights related to HBC Rewards and HBC Rewards promotions. They will be responsible for driving the planning and continuous improvement of the Loyalty promo plan, generating actionable insights using customer data and expanding our data science capabilities as we move into personalized promotions. The incumbent will also be a key contributor as reimagine and expand the HBC Rewards program.

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase and promote diversity in our teams, products and brands. They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the development, measurement and continuous improvement of the Loyalty promotional plan (both Mass and Targeted) in partnership with our merchandising team to drive top and bottom line results
  • Lead a small data science team to expand our capabilities in generating targeted promotions with a focus on full store, category and brand offerings 
  • Liaise with Loyalty marketing and operations teams to ensure the successful execution of Mass and Targeted promotions
  • Work with our Loyalty, Online and in-store data to paint the picture of our customer and how they interact with The Bay
  • Develop new customer segmentations to better understand and target our customers in both online and bricks and mortar businesses
  • Generate meaningful insights, identify new opportunities and drive strategies to solve business problems
  • Assist with the building of business cases related to Memberships, Financial Services, Partnerships and vendor contracts 
  • Lead a team of higher performing analysts and data scientists to exceed business objectives and ensure their continued personal development

What You Will Need:

  • Strong team leader and ability to build and maintain effective cross functional relationships
  • Experience managing promotional plans for both Mass and Personalized promotions
  • Experience with various programming languages / platforms (Python, SQL, R, GCP) is a requirement
  • Ability to influence and be an excellent communicator across all levels of the team and in the organization
  • Advanced business acumen and understanding of competitive landscape in order to recognize and capitalize on opportunities
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
  • Innovative self-starter and customer centric thinking
  • Critical thinking skills and proven ability to take requests vague in nature, and distill them into solutions with actionable insights
  • Storytelling – proven ability to take complex solutions, and simplify them into effective stories through presentation decks
  • 4+ years of work experience in an analytical role. Experience ideally in Retail, Consulting or Loyalty
  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable moving from ‘Big Picture’ strategic thinking to detailed execution seamlessly with strong attention to detail
