Day In The Life:

As a Manager of Ecommerce Operations you will lead the day-to-day studio operations of The Bay’s ecommerce operations. This role will oversee merchandise teams, stylists, photographers, and editors through fluctuating volume while implementing efficiencies to lessen the time to live process. The ideal candidate for this position is a people and operational leader, with the ability to work cross functionally within internal teams and external stakeholders. This role will report directly to the Director of Ecommerce Operations, running an efficient and effective studio supporting This role will be based out of our studio in Scarborough, Ontario. 

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase the diversity of our products and brands.  They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.

What You Will Do:

  • Find efficiencies within current process from receiving product to the digital product onboarding stage, fast tracking the time-to-site
  • Create team growth and development opportunities, setting clear performance objectives and KPI’s
  • Oversee all ecommerce studio operations including off-figure and model photography, Looklet & Look Creator and workflow and production technologies such as Workhorse, PIM, Adobe Scene7 and Box
  • Foster a positive and community-centered studio atmosphere with your team and colleagues
  • Adhere to and monitor budgets, process vendor invoice payments, oversee and document all studio and vendor expenses, provide monthly reconciliations as needed
  • Work with Asset Protection, Building Maintenance, and Distribution Centre for logistical inquiries related to daily merchandise deliveries
  • Intake requests from stakeholders for product photography, process rush requests, provide detailed updates on project statuses, identify flags or risks in the production process
  • Audit daily report to ensure all items meet or exceed onboarding targets, monitor total inventory value of all assets to prioritize highest value items or key brands, and investigate pending items in the workflow

What You Will Need:

  • 4-5+ years experience in a high-volume ecommerce, creative operations, or photo studio management role overseeing projects, data and teams
  • Knowledge of complete photo studio operations such as production workflows, merchandise receiving, digital asset management, photography and styling processes
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations 
  • Remains current on industry trends and digital/ecommerce innovation
  • Results-driven, ability to handle multiple and shifting requests or projects with tight deadlines
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented with an eye on the bigger picture
  • Agility to jump in where needed, working with a range of cross-functional teams facing specific challenges
  • Technical understanding of photography, retouching, and digital imagery
  • Highly competent with Google Suite, Adobe Suite and production management systems
