What to Expect:

As the Director of Facilities Maintenance, you will be responsible for guiding a national team of Regional Managers that oversee all maintenance activities and energy consumption for 80+ Hudson’s Bay Buildings, and Equipment.

Desired Traits:

People Leadership – You lead Regional Managers, Facility Managers, Coordinators, Building Operators, Lead Building Operators, Electricians, Building Engineers and Handypersons to ensure that facilities operate efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with regulations and policies

Strategic Execution – You develop and execute annual expense and capital budgets, report financials monthly to the leadership team and drive cost control for all maintenance categories. You are responsible for procurement, execution, management of National maintenance agreements, including creating and managing national requests for proposals. You also oversee the work order management system and AP upload files for maintenance related work orders and invoices

Teamwork – You collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, negotiate with vendors, and develop strong relationships with internal and external customers. You perform Annual Vendor audits including Vendor score carding and KPI tracking. To ensure a seamless execution, you also develop and maintain a standard facilities spec book for new store construction

Creativity & Innovation – You identify, develop, and implement energy efficiency projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall performance of facilities. You are also a Key contributor to Hudson’s Bay Sustainability Program. 

What you will bring to the team;

  • Post Secondary education in a relevant field with knowledge of construction standards and building code
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management skills
  • Strong Financial acumen
  • Experience with industry standard agreements
  • Knowledge of work order management systems
  • 10+ years in a senior role in Facilities Maintenance, preferably with retail facilities
  • Project Management Experience
  • Exceptional communication skills including the ability present business cases and technical issues to the senior leadership team
