ROLE SUMMARY

Implements and executes programs, procedures, techniques, and equipment, which will ensure the safety and security of Distribution Centers and related HBC facility employees. Proactively identifies, investigates, and reports potential and actual exposure to loss of Company assets. Oversees means minimizing risk, ensuring compliance with company policy, and providing guidance to DC store/personnel on detecting and preventing loss.

Establishes and maintains communication avenues with Distribution Center Management, the Asset Protection Department, and other Company and outside agencies to ensure that established Asset Protection goals and objectives are met, minimizing loss of profits. Performs as Safety Manager in area of responsibility, to lead proactive measures including but not limited to required safety programs, monitor training, incident investigation, and corrective action documenting and reporting, Manages proprietary DC Asset Protection Security Officer Guard force to ensure training on and adherence to policy and procedures. Conducts required training sessions to educate and motivate the Asset Protection Department and other DC Departments to support Asset Protection / Loss Prevention / Safety goals and objectives.

Salary $65 - $70K - Starting wage may vary based on local Collective Bargaining Agreement where applicable.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively assist in the coordination of the timely and accurate execution of all Asset Protection initiatives as per Company standards to reduce loss and mitigate risks.

  • Effective use of corporate communication systems as a vehicle for Asset Protection initiatives.

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration to meet objectives.

  • Develop a rapport with both the internal and external customers.

  • Management of the on-site Asset Protection team, providing coaching and direction, including the execution of hiring and training where required.

  • Liaison with Executive management teams.

  • Conduct building audits to determine compliance with Asset Protection programs.

  • Drive and monitor corporate programs.

  • Excellent working knowledge of access control and of CCTV systems.

  • Provides support and leadership within the department to internal and external business partners.

  • Provides support, leadership, operational and developmental training to building associates and departments where required in all areas of the DC.

  • Physical security of company assets, buildings, and property.

  • Knowledge of company systems and procedural errors leading to shrinkage and actively working to reduce.

  • Actively support the company’s Health and Safety programs.

  • Use an analytical approach to developing action plans aimed at reducing loss.

  • Demonstrate cooperation and foster productivity within and beyond your own team and department.

  • Complete regular reviews of proprietary security (Asset Protection team) to ensure productivity.

  • All other duties as assigned by management

  • Conducts detailed advanced investigations on all issues including but not limited to Loss/theft; Workplace violence; Supply chain: courier/vendor; and Workers' compensation injuries.

KEY EXPERIENCES

  • 2+ years of direct, Asset Protection/Loss Prevention and/or Supply Chain work experience.

  • Experience in driving successful Asset Protection/Loss Prevention, Shortage Control, Health & and fraud prevention programs.

  • Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong presentation skills.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with safety compliance and/or program administration.

  • Knowledge of CCOHS and other federal/provincial regulations and requirements.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems.

  • Proven ability to make good decisions under pressure.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented.

  • Maintains confidentiality concerning all information and projects.

  • Values and exhibits the highest level of personal integrity.

  • Strong interview, interrogation, and investigative skills are required. W-Z training, CFI preferred.

  • Must have proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Knowledge of and previous experience with Asset Protection/Loss Prevention technologies (including CCTV systems and exception reporting systems) is advantageous.
