What to Expect:
The Commissioned Sales Associate represents Hudson’s Bay and its guiding principle of being Customer-First: understanding and executing the Customer Service Strategy to deliver sales results and enhance the customer experience. Professionalism, efficiency, knowledge of merchandise, customer service, and strong communication skills are essential qualities for a successful Associate.
The Commissioned Sales Associate will participate primarily in selling and customer engagement activities on the sales floor, with the ability to earn commission as a percentage of their sales. The Associate will also engage in merchandising and stockroom tasks as assigned for the success of the department. Accordingly, the Associate must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, have strong people skills, and be comfortable proactively interacting with customers and operating a point-of-sale system.
As representatives of the Hudson’s Bay brand, all Associates are encouraged to express their passion for fashion while maintaining a business casual appearance. The Commissioned Sales Associate reports to an Associate Manager as well as Associate Leads to ensure the success of the day-to-day department duties in the world of Footwear.
What you will do:
Provide a dynamic service presence throughout the department and proactively greet and assist customers.
Generate sales by determining customer's needs and processing all Point of Sale (POS) transactions accurately and efficiently.
Build and maintain customer relationships and clientele by providing an exceptional shopping experience and leveraging elevated selling behaviours, including consultative selling and clienteling.
Achieve KPI's (key performance indicators) to deliver business objectives, including productivity metrics and promotion of the company's HBC credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain, gain and share the knowledge and expertise on the brands & styles we offer (Product Knowledge).
Maintain sales floor and stockroom standards including replenishment, presentation, and order and cleanliness.
Enforce loss prevention and shortage control procedures.
Assist in the preparation and execution of the annual inventory count.
Get things done by engaging in high level teamwork, acting with customers in mind, and flexing your interpersonal skills.
Provide outstanding customer service, excels in developing strong, long-lasting customer relationships, and succeeds at going above and beyond their goals.
Adjust your communication and sales approach to various customers, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Be a problem-solver who is also intuitively analytical and creative.
Create a sense of community in the team, share wins and successes, and encourage or contribute to open dialogue.
What you will bring to the team:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is preferred; previous commission selling experience is helpful.
Knowledge of cash register systems with basic computer and mathematical skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop long-term relationships with customers.
Strong organizational, interpersonal communication, and detail-oriented skills.
High level of ownership, accountability and results-oriented initiative - YOU ARE THE EXPERT!
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Requires physical movement with moderate lifting and climbing in a fast paced environment.
Possess an understanding of and passion for fashion, commissioned sales, and/or footwear is helpful.
Pay: $17.40 - Starting wage may vary based on local Collective Bargaining Agreement where applicable.
